We are seeking to appoint a flexible, skilled and compassionate Higher Level Teaching Assistant to work within our teaching team at Paxcroft Primary School. The successful candidate will ideally have experience of working with children in both KS1 and KS2.

They will have high expectations for all children, including children with SEND, and will develop excellent relationships with children, managing behaviour positively. They will demonstrate good written and spoken English skills and sound mathematical knowledge. They will have excellent communication skills, will be able to demonstrate initiative as well as being a strong team player.

The post holder will support children's learning in class lessons, work with selected groups, support individuals with specific support plans and further the positive school experience of the pupils. They will also provide class cover when needed. This post will include an hour's lunchtime supervision. Experience with particular Special Educational Needs, e.g. autistic spectrum disorder, would be desirable.

We would expect that the successful applicant would be able to demonstrate, or be able to develop, the knowledge and skills to deliver interventions appropriate to children working behind expectations in this age range.
