Full Job Description

    We can now offer the opportunity for a HSEQ Manager to join our large multi-disciplined operation.

    The post holder will help keep GB operating in a safe and healthy manner and in-line with the latest guidance, rules and regulations governing statutory H, S & E compliance. The post holder will also be the Quality lead for the company.

    Responsibilities include:
  • Maintain the company's health & safety systems and ensure continued vision and adherence throughout all areas of our operation.

  • Provide active visible leadership for all health, safety, environmental and quality matters ensuring that the required standards are enforced throughout the company.

  • Provide support for the organisations management teams in all aspects of health & safety.

  • Promote worker involvement in all aspects of health & safety and raise awareness of the importance of health & safety in their activities.

  • Leading and promoting the company's adherence to ISO9001 and ISO140001, taking appropriate action where necessary to maintain the company's quality standards.

  • Carry out risk and COSHH assessments including fire risk assessments, including annual reviews to documentation.

  • Carry out new starter health & safety inductions throughout the company.

  • Carry out accident or incident investigations, compile reports, carry out any follow up actions or monitoring and produce statistics.

  • Measure health, safety and environmental performance on site, with the use of onsite audits and inspections, both to a set schedule or on an ad-hoc basis. (Training will be given for the IT recording system used)

  • Represent the organisation at meetings with clients or enforcement bodies at client's premises or on site.

  • Carry out regular visits to all of our outlying sites to ensure full coherence to all health & safety standards.

  • Overseeing company compliance alongside our Gas and Electrical managers.

  • Ensuring all necessary procedures, documentation is up to date and accurate.

  • Be aware of all current health & safety legislation, along with proposed and forthcoming changes.

  • Conduct respiratory protective equipment 'face fit' testing and training for our workforce.

  • Compile reports and guidance documents, advise on best practice, propose solutions on all areas of health & safety, including areas of improvement.

    The NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety.

  • Along with or as a minimum the NEBOSH Construction Certificate (NCC), or be Health & Safety Diploma qualified such as NEBOSH National Certificate, City & Guilds Level 5 (NVQ), British Safety Council Level 6.

  • Hands on experience in site-based Health & Safety on both large multi discipline sites, to smaller site works.

  • General computer literacy.

  • Good communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels throughout the business.

  • The ability to enforce the required standards where required and be able to relay why these are important.

  • A formal respiratory protective equipment 'face fit' testing certificate or experience in the management of respiratory protective equipment, or, the willingness to go on a training course.

  • Experience in work-based plant & equipment inspections.

  • The ability to work under their own initiative, remotely where required and organise their own activities to make best use of their time and abilities.
