Join our team as a European Laboratory Automation Informatics Specialist (LAIS), reporting directly to the European Laboratory Informatics Manager. In this role, you will collaborate with BD stakeholders to provide expertise in Network Configuration, Computer Infrastructure, and troubleshooting for Middleware solutions. Your primary focus will be on delivering exceptional product support and ensuring smooth implementation of our Laboratory Automation solutions at customer sites.
This is field position with the exciting opportunity to visit customers across the EMEA region. You have the flexibility to be based anywhere in the UK, as long as your chosen location is easily accessible.

INTEGRATED DIAGNOSTICS SOLUTIONS
By aligning and simplifying our work, our Integrated Diagnostic Solutions (IDS) business unit aims to drive growth and innovation around everything from integrated specimen management to diagnostic solutions.,

  • Support the implementation of BD Lab Automation at customer sites during and post-implementation phases.

  • Collaborate internally to execute comprehensive project plans for implementation.

  • Configure BD Lab Automation Data Management Solution at customer sites, including laboratory information system connectivity setup and software customization.

  • Perform IT server installations.

  • Respond promptly to support requests and troubleshoot technical issues related to BD's middleware installations.

  • Assist in determining root causes of product issues and provide feedback on product design and performance.

  • Identify product improvement needs, performance issues, and key concerns.

  • Ensure proper implementation of Field Corrective Actions and rollout of new product releases or updates.

    Degree in Computer Sciences/Networking/Technical or equivalent, with demonstrable knowledge and experience.

  • Minimum three years' experience in field-based support roles, ideally in Microbiology or Molecular Diagnostics

  • Expertise in supporting middleware solutions in hospital or laboratory IT environments.

  • Strong knowledge of information systems, computer hardware, OS configuration, network design and troubleshooting, and virtualization technologies.

  • High level of experience in Information Security and proficiency in SQL Service installations and troubleshooting.

  • Extensive experience with LIS systems connectivity (ASTM, HL7, interfacing projects) and software development skills.
