Full Job Description

Aldershot Town is a professional football club based in Hampshire. Since its formation in 1992, Aldershot Town has established a proven track record of developing young players & providing a clear pathway into our first team and beyond, with several players coming through our youth system and now playing regularly in the English Football League system. Each season numerous players from our youth department are rewarded with first team appearances, a number of which have become regular first team players. As a football club, we recognise that we play a significant role within both the local & wider football community to provide talented young players with the opportunity to progress into professional football and as such, as a club are committed to doing so reflected in our unique academy programme. Our vision is to be 'category 3 ready' in preparation for a return to the Football League.,

  • Lead the planning, delivery & review process for your designated academy age group in line with the academy coaching methodology & playing philosophy.

  • Create & implement individual development plans in line with the academy IDP programme.

  • Responsible for ensuring your designated age group successfully implements the academy playing philosophy.

  • Ensure that session plans are uploaded to the relevant phase staff group.

  • Ensure that most match reports are submitted to the relevant phase staff group.

  • Provide players & parents with regular formal feedback via player reviews aligned to the players IDP.

  • Provide players & parents with regular informal, honest feedback as & when required, delivered in a professional manner.

  • Establish positive relationships with players, possessing the ability to connect, engage & influence behavioural change.

  • Establish professional working relationships with parents, keeping them up to date on the players progress & involving them in their child's development.

  • Attend all core CPD events.

  • A cultural architect, always ensuring you role model the expected behaviours whilst representing Aldershot Town.

  • All training sessions must be set up prior to the arrival of the players.

  • Matchday changing rooms must be set up prior to the arrival of the players.

  • Ensure all equipment maintains a high standard.

  • Retain up to date qualifications.

  • Adhere to the club's code of conduct & policies at all times.

    A qualified coach with a passion for youth development.

  • Wanting to gain experience of working within a professional football environment.

  • A desire to develop themselves.

  • Aspirations of progressing into a Football League or Premier League club in a full time or part time capacity.

  • Prepared to go above and beyond to support the development of young players.

  • A hunger to learn, with an open-minded approach to coaching.

  • Possesses a solution orientated, 'can do' attitude to problem solving.

  • Is an effective communicator, who is adaptable, possesses a high work ethic and adopts a growth mindset.

  • Desirable Skills & Qualifications
  • UEFA A Licence

  • FA Advanced Youth Award

  • FA Youth Award Modules 1, 2 & 3.

  • Relevant degree.

  • Experience working within a category 1, 2 or 3 Academy environment.
