Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Legal Secretary to join a well-established Wills, Trusts & Estates team in Southampton.

My client is a leading Legal 200 law firm. You will be assisting experienced Fee-Earners in their caseloads with a role that's fast-paced and varied throughout.

The role will be to support fee earners with the following:

  • Typing from dictation and producing documents

  • Preparation of various documentation

  • Dealing with telephone enquiries, both internal and external

  • Being the first point of contact for the team

  • Communication with clients

  • File compliance

  • Diary management

  • Filing and general administration

    Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Highly organised

  • Accurate typing and input of information skills

  • A good team player

  • Flexible and proactive approach

  • Good IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

  • Willing to take ownership and be accountable for own work

  • Tax & Estate Planning experience would be a distinct advantage, but not essential


  • You will receive further training and development throughout your career from day one. The successful candidate will also be able to take advantage of the hybrid working policy which is a minimum of 5 days a fortnight in the office.

    In order to apply, you would ideally have pre-existing Wills, Trusts and Probate experience in place, however the firm would be keen to review candidates from an administrative background that wish to transition this into a career within law.
