Full Job Description

  • Responsible for designing and developing key Mechanical systems within the Underwater Weapons sector

  • Provide technical engineering support to mechanical engineering design activities for new and legacy products

  • Undertake functional design and/or provide qualification and evidence for acceptance, fitness for purpose, regulatory & legislative requirements, and safety

  • Provide support for assurance that the design is adequate i.e. it is robust, and provide supporting documentation for the safety case

  • Attend and contribute to design review discussions/meetings

    Understand the principles and approaches underpinning mechanical engineering design and development of systems, sub-systems, assemblies, and components

  • Requires good communication skills; must understand technical instructions and be able to communicate technical information to others


  • Desirable:
  • Desirable to have experience in one of the following: Thermal Systems, Fluid Systems, HP Systems, Computational Fluid Dynamics

  • Desirable typically be at CEng level (or equivalent level of capability) or in the final stages of achieving CEng status

    Salary: Circa £48,000 depending on skills and experience, You'll receive benefits including a competitive pension scheme, enhanced annual leave allowance and a Company contributed Share Incentive Plan.
