Full Job Description

The National Plant Interface Manager will oversee the coordination and optimisation and utilisation of operations within the Plant department. The Plant Interface Manager will play a key role in ensuring seamless integration between various departments, suppliers, and stakeholders.

  • Be the primary point of contact for communication and collaboration between departments involved in rail plant operations, including, maintenance, engineering, quality assurance, and logistics.

  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity, and cost-effectiveness within the rail plant operations by analysing existing processes, workflows, and systems.

  • Identify reduced utilisation and responsible for increasing the revenue of existing plant machinery by liaising and engaging with other contractors for the cross hiring of Plant equipment, ensuring procurement and commercial compliance is followed and the appropriate due diligence.

  • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of machinery against contract requirements.

  • Work with Project teams to ensure all operational plant has been included in the overall planning and delivery documentation.

  • Implement and oversee quality control processes to maintain the highest standards of product quality and reliability, adhering to industry regulations.

  • Implement and lead to maintain a suitable digital system to encompass maintenance schedules, troubleshoot and analyse information thus to minimise downtime through proactive maintenance strategies.

  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, standards, and protocols to maintain a safe working environment for employees and contractors involved in rail plant operations.

  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement within the teams, encouraging innovation, problem-solving, and collaboration among team members to drive operational excellence.

  • Communicate regularly with stakeholders, customers, and external partners to understand their needs, address concerns, and ensure alignment with company goals and objectives.

    Minimum 5 years' experience within a similar role within the rail industry within the plant department.

  • Good IT skills and ability to use digital documentation.

  • Learn, adapt and be open minded for new technologies.

  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team and support as required.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Full driving licence and requirement to travel Nationally.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

  • The ability to stay calm and meet deadlines.

  • Ability to travel to different locations as and when required.

  • Experience in the rail industry ideally within Plant and machinery.
