Full Job Description

This is an exceptional time to be joining the University of Southampton and its Network and Voice team within the University's IT department, iSolutions. The Network and Voice team is uniquely placed to support world class education and research facilities in the UK.

About the Role
This is a key role in supporting the Network refresh project being carried out at the University of Southampton over the next 5 years. Following the approval of the network replacement project you will be joining a team of dedicated teams of specialists who are supporting the current systems and the replacement network.

What you'll do
Act as the primary technical liaison between the supplier delivering the new network, and the University's network services team.
Manage and oversee the activities of other technical project roles working on the network refresh.
Ensure the needs and requirements of the wider IT teams are represented and delivered by the new network.
What you'll bring
Experience of leading teams of network engineers.
Hands-on experience of delivering a network transformation project for an enterprise-scale environment.
Awareness of cyber security and an understanding of how modern security standards need to be built into network designs.
