Full Job Description

The main purpose of the role is to work as part of a small team providing support for optical and reliability testing, implementation of new tests, data analysis and reporting of module and system units. This is a hands-on, practical role, working alongside inquisitive, innovative and exceptional engineers and reporting into an optical test manager. The incumbent will be able to make a strong and high energy contribution to the company, operating as a key member of the test team, proactively contributing to Quality Control and driving excellence in Health & Safety.,

  • Support the optical test manager in the provision of a high-quality optical test infrastructure. Work with the team to identify ways to improve existing capabilities and add new ones

  • Liaise with electrical and TFT test function when necessary

  • Work as part of the team that will perform tests and complete data analysis on sample units at both system and module levels

  • Work as part of the team that will drive triage of optical liquid crystal cells, including establishing standard test procedures and reporting methods

  • Be an active member of the team that will contribute to failure analysis of optical liquid crystal cells and liaise with design and process team on critical improvements

    Science / Engineering-based discipline qualification an advantage, A broad engineering background, likely to encompass some or all of the following: liquid crystal cell characterisation, optics, electro/optical characterisation, flat panel display technologies

  • Significant experience of test methodologies and test data analysis

  • High level of competency with MS Office and fluent in English (written and verbal).

  • Knowledge of health and safety awareness, Flexible approach to work in a dynamic and changing environment

  • Strong problem-solving skills, the ability and initiative to approach tasks in a structured manner and the tenacity to resolve on-going technical issues

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including ability to communicate effectively at all levels

  • Structured, organised and detail oriented in approach

  • Team player with ability to work as part of organisation wide project / functional teams as well as independently
