Full Job Description

Ward 84 OPD/DCU is a reginal centre for treatment of children with life threatening malignancies and blood disorders. It is a dedicated out-patient and day case facility. Our clinic facilitates 30 plus Oncology/Haematology clinics per week including a weekly general anaesthetic list for bone marrow and lumber puncture procedures. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a professional and friendly team, delivering high standards of care to our patients and their families as they undertake complex treatment. We are currently looking for a hard working and enthusiastic Team Leader to support our department and achieve an effective and efficient service to our patients.

Please note: There can be occasional/distressing circumstances when dealing with emotional relatives and the consequences of terminal illness.

Responsible for the supervision of the Administration staff for Haematology & Oncology Out-patients, Day Case and Inpatient areas

Supervise and support the service level standards to deliver an efficient and effective service

Oversee booking of appointments on HIVE using the Workqueue

Maintain targets of booking data

Manage and maintain Administration staff ensuring adequate levels of cover

To provide and maintain a good service with the focus of 'customer care'

Induction of new starters and follow up Probationary Meetings

To deputise other Team Leads in times of absence

Undertake any training that is required for the safe and effective execution of duties of the post

Provide a private and confidential attitude when dealing with patient documentation and information, Responsible for the supervision of the Administration staff for Haematology & Oncology Out-patients, Day Case and Inpatient areas
