PART-TIME TEACHER OF SCIENCE

Part Time (0.8 FTE over 4 days)

Required for September 2024, a well-qualified, outstanding classroom teacher to join our highly successful 11-18 Science Department. Candidates should be imaginative and capable of introducing fresh ideas whilst maintaining a clear focus on successful examination outcomes. We offer opportunities to teach across the ability range in KS3 and KS4. Applications from candidates with a specialism in any of the Science subjects is welcome.

The Science Department at The Nelson Thomlinson School takes a traditional approach and believes that a knowledge and understanding of scientific principles is essential for all pupils. The school prides itself on the quality of education it provides for pupils of all ages and abilities, with the Sciences enjoying strong uptake at A level as a result of excellent outcomes at GCSE in both Triple and Combined Science.

The Nelson Thomlinson School is a high performing secondary school on the fringe of the Lake District in Cumbria. Ofsted's most recent visit in October 2023 highlighted our strong traditions and a school where pupils (and staff) are proud to live out its values. NTS also has a dedicated Professional Development department where opportunities for staff development and training are made a priority.
