Performing Arts Teacher

Outwood Academy Bydales is an 11-16 school located in the beautiful coastal village of Marske-by-the-Sea, close to the North York Moors National Park and with spectacular views of the coastline. We are extremely proud of our tradition of serving the families of the community of Marske and surrounding areas. This was recognised in our recent ungraded Ofsted Inspection which stated "This is a school at the heart of its community", and "This is a calm and orderly school". Following this inspection we remain an Outstanding School, and the report rightly celebrated our many strengths.

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Performing Arts Teacher to join our friendly and ever evolving arts team. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to deliver lessons across dance, music and art, working with an experienced team who are supportive and enthusiastic with an excellent track record of achieving strong outcomes. The department has a strong curriculum that is well-planned and ready to deliver, with the flexibility to allow for the successful candidate to contribute their own creative ideas and style of pedagogy. The department engages in a range of extra curricular activities including an annual musical and Outwood Performance of the Year which is a trust wide competition open to every student within the trust.

At Outwood Academy Bydales we have impressive facilities, with a dedicated drama/dance studio, a large music room with brand new Apple Macs and a wide range of instruments and two well stocked art rooms. We have opportunities for students to learn skills on our lighting rig and we encourage students to take part and develop skills at every facet of performing arts from costume design to set building and beyond. We regularly attract large audiences for our shows. We are proud to be a successful performing arts department within the Trust, and regularly host and invite the community into the academy to enjoy our professional standard productions.

OGAT colleagues will benefit from the work of the institute, which draws on the expertise of some of the most outstanding school leaders in education today. For our ECT colleagues a full and detailed programme of support and development, including Music, Art & Dance subject specialism support will be provided.
