About the job: As a Procurement Officer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Procurement Manager in the development and delivery of cost-effective procurement and contract management services. You will lead procurement activities, ensure compliance with internal policies and legislation, whilst upholding ethical standards throughout the procurement process.,
- Lead the full procurement life cycle of tenders and quotes, contributing to all aspects of the tender process.
- Support contract management, innovation, and continuous improvement by building strong supplier relationships and proactively managing services.
- Identify procurement opportunities through category management and support the development and implementation of operational objectives.
- Assist in training stakeholders across the business and raising awareness of the procurement function.
- Stay informed about supplier market trends, pricing, and framework availability.
- Conduct research to identify potential suppliers and specifications.
- Prepare procurement KPIs to identify areas for improvement and support decision-making.
- Maintain and increase awareness of procurement practices through research and networking.
- Administer the e-procurement system and update procurement pages on the intranet and company website.
Relevant professional qualification or working towards CIPS Diploma in Procurement and Supply (Level 5) or equivalent experience. - Knowledge of UK Procurement Legislation.
- Ability to work collaboratively and manage own workload effectively.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
- Openness to new ideas, willingness to challenge the status quo, and create innovative solutions.
- Experience in the housing or public sector.
- Comprehensive understanding of public sector procurement processes and governance requirements.
