Full Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity to recruit a Rehabilitation Assistant (Band 3) to join the rehabilitation team at St. Benedicts Hospice and Centre for Specialist Palliative in Sunderland.

You will work closely with Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists in the delivery of individual plans of care for patients, working across all departments.

You will be expected to move and handle patients in supporting their rehabilitation programmes and contribute to the delivery of therapeutic activity groups

NVQ 3 in Care or equivalent qualification

The Care Certificate or willingness to work towards

Good standard of general education

Experience of working in NHS or healthcare environment in a rehabilitation role

Experience of palliative care is desirable

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential

Effective organisational skills

Ability to maintain confidentiality

Able to move and handle patients and loads

Car driver, valid license and business class insurance are essential
