Full Job Description

We are looking to recruit a Roadworker to join our Highways and Environmental Services team, on a permanent basis, based at our Penrhos Depot in Llandysul.

On a day-to-day basis you will:

  • work in a number of varied tasks, tarmacing, slabing etc

  • may be required to drive vehicles with specialist driving skills, + Highways Maintenance: Cyclic and Routine Maintenance; Emergency response; Highways inspection; Winter service.

  • + Highways Development: Planning liaison; Road safety; Regional transport; Street lighting; Streetworks; Traffic management; CWIC/NMWTRA; Design supervision; Flood and coastal risk management; Highways improvement.
    + Local Environment Services: Waste Collections; Household waste sites; Grounds maintenance; Street cleaning.

    We are looking to recruit an individual:
  • who has a full Valid UK Driving license

  • who has a knowledge of Highway Maintenance Activities

  • aware of Safe working practices


  • The post requires a degree of fluency in the Welsh language. Please note that a successful applicant without the required Welsh language skill will be fully supported to reach the required standard within two years of appointment.
