Full Job Description

The Strategic Access Management and Monitoring Strategy (SAMMS) aims to reduce disturbance from additional recreational activities on coastal birds through contact with the local community in Thanet and Canterbury coastal areas. This will be achieved through research, education, enforcement, monitoring, and mitigation, promoting responsible and respectful use of the coast regarding wildlife., We're looking for a SAMMS officer to act as the first point of contact with the community to help visitors to the coast understand the effects of human disturbance on birds and encourage behaviours that reduce disturbance.

Applicants will have extensive knowledge of the coastline and an understanding of coastal habitats and species conservation.

This is a high profile, public facing role within the organisation and the community and the ability to manage internal and external customer relationships effectively and appropriately is essential.

Due to the nature of the role the successful candidate will be required to undertake an Standard DBS check as part of their pre-employment checks.

This post requires you to have a full driving licence and own transport or requires travelling to sites in a timely manner equivalent to motor travel in your own car.
