Seasonal Gardener

A seasonal gardener is required for large country house gardens and grounds in Kent. The appointed person will be required to assist the existing garden team with general gardening duties including weeding, planting and hedge cutting as well as a variety of other duties. The role will provide good experience for the right candidate interested in a future career in gardening. Applicants will be enthusiastic, motivated individuals who are physically fit with a keen interest in gardening and a desire to learn. Prior gardening knowledge or experience is not essential but desired and training will be offered to the right candidate. A full clean driving licence is essential., There is an opportunity for an enthusiastic gardener to maintain the gardens of a historic house as an assistant to an established team of gardeners. The gardens are at a private family home within 10 minutes of Faversham in a rural setting. The comprise just under 10 acres of organic

The applicant will need to be motivated, enthusiastic and work well as part of a team. Prior experience is not essential and the role will cover a wide range of work to include:

· Weeding

· Planting

· General garden maintenance

· Working alongside domestic animals as required by the employer

· Hedge cutting

· Lawn mowing woodland paths

Skills Required

· A willingness to turn a hand to anything and learn new skills

· Motivation for the role

· Experience working within a small team environment

· An understanding of basic gardening machinery

· Applicants will need to be physically fit as this is a hands on gardening position

· Full, clean driving licence

The position is a full time role (Monday to Friday) and is offered with an immediate start for a fixed term contract to expire on 27th September 2024.
