Full Job Description

  • Working within a team of NDT engineers inspecting advanced aircraft and components

  • Compile required reporting, identify any issues and escalate as appropriate

  • Ensure all technical airworthiness activities undertaken are appropriately documented and records are maintained on relevant systems (IT/paper based)

  • Comply with and participating in the application of human factors, error management, risk management and safety assurance within the Material Engineering environment

  • Improving methods and processes to meet customer and business requirements for Safety, Quality, Cost and Delivery

    Aerospace background

  • EN 4179 (Aerospace) L2 Ultrasonic Testing (UT) and Eddy Current Testing (ECT) qualification or equivalent ( NAS410 , Personnel Certification in Non-Destructive Testing (PCN) Aero )

  • Working knowledge of Ultrasonic Testing (UT) and Eddy Current Testing (ECT) systems and requirements

  • Professional knowledge of nationally mandated regulations e.g., SHE regulations

  • Proficiency in the use of MS Office ( Word, Excel & Power Point) for reporting purposes


  • Desirable:
  • L2 Computed Radiography CR

  • L2 Penetrant Testing (PT)

  • L2 Magnetic Testing (MT), In this dynamic, high performing and growing team you will work as part of a multi-disciplined team demonstrating a strong work ethic with the ability to adapt to ever-changing demands whilst working under pressure. You will hold strong personal and technical skills and be an excellent communicator who can motivate and lead others. This role will provide you with a unique opportunity to work within world-class facilities with leading products including working on the 5th generation fighter jets. The team encourages and supports career development, and you should be willing to work towards attaining further certification, in the other NDT techniques and methods.
