Full Job Description

Working within the Albemarle Capital Project Team, the Site Quality Lead primary role is working on the Kemerton Expansion Project (KEP) and provide assistance on Albemarle's other projects when required.

Role function are:

  • Implementation of the KEP Quality Plan and procedures

  • Coordinate a team of inspectors to ensure inspection and test activities are performed and verified

  • Manage non-conformance process, to ensure NCRs are closed within a timely matter

  • Attendance to site meetings, report quality status and liaise with construction management.

  • Work with the Completion team to assist with the construction verification handover., Implementation and maintenance of site quality management plan.

  • Coordinate team of inspectors to align with the construction schedule activities

  • Review and approve Work Contractor's suite of quality management documentation including but not limited to procedures, plans, ITPs, MDR index, WPS/PQR, painting reports, ITRs, and the likes as required.

  • Establish inspection programme, to ensure attendance to ITP witness and hold points

  • Conduct quality awareness sessions with new starters and tour of site

  • Establish Non-Conformance process, report any non-compliance, and assist management with close-out actions

  • Perform root cause analysis and corrective actions on major NCRs

  • Participate in site quality audits with Works Contractors

  • Monthly and weekly reporting of quality status, for ITPs, NCRs & MDRs

  • Promote quality principles and processes with KEP Management

  • Promote safe behavior, safety observations and adhere to PPE requirements

  • Identify resources requirements to align with schedule

  • Monitor and inspect incoming products to ensure there is no damage, omissions or defects.

  • Establish a programme to promote quality observations to resolve minor deviations from project requirements

  • Familiar with site package's scope of works and specifications

  • Establish progressive MDR review schedule and coordinate reviews to align with schedule

  • Monitor the As-Built drawings process for adherence procedural controls

  • Works with the Document Control team for the timely review of Works Contractors quality documentation.

  • Perform ITP activities to ensure compliance including

    Minimum of 15 years of experience in the industrial/petro-chemical/mining industry

  • Experience with coordinating inspection personnel and maintaining quality control processes

  • Familiar with ISO 9001 requirements and Australian Standards

  • Good Computer skills including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Aconex,

  • Ability to communicate with all levels of management

  • Ability to work with all levels of engineering, construction and plant personnel

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills


  • Education / Qualification Requirements
  • Trade or tertiary qualifications

  • CSWIP 3.2 or similar

  • NACE qualification preferable

  • Quality management training (ISO 9001 training preferable)

  • Minimum 10 years of experience within a Quality Coordination role.

  • Legally entitled to work in Australia
