Full Job Description

We are presently recruiting for a Social Value Manager role to be based from our Southampton Head Office, on a hybrid basis. The role will include national travel, supporting a variety of civil engineering and infrastructure contracts across our Rail, Aviation, Defence and Ports portfolios.

Reporting to our Sustainability Manager you will be instrumental in supporting social value best practice, you will work with clients to achieve their aims, and you will have the opportunity to lead in the design and implementation of both current and new initiatives within the division.,

  • Lead accountability with colleagues, clients and local communities to explore aspirations and opportunities to tackle local social, environmental and economic challenges

  • Create needs-driven, project and framework led plans that meet and exceed the needs of communities, clients, local authorities and local stakeholders

  • Monitor delivery performance of social value and stakeholder management, including creating case studies for learning and continuous improvement

  • Support the integration of a social value culture into company processes and procedures for the delivery of projects and programmes

  • Help shape and drive the company's stakeholder management and social value proposition demonstrating our market-leading bespoke services

  • Respond to bid opportunities and provide specialist bid and tender responses, as required

  • Coordinate communications and marketing requirements that are relevant to the post

  • Coordinate data capture and reporting as appropriate to provide effective monitoring or performance, including using both our own, and our customers own, social value measurement tools

  • Generate reports in various formats including PowerBI (training available)

  • Contribute to building a community of social value and stakeholders by liaising with other social value and stakeholder colleagues across MGroup

  • Keep up to date with current legislations and industry trends, including as a minimum knowledge of PPN 06-20 and equivalents, the Government Social Value Model and the Public Sector Equality Duty

    Have held a similar role previously, or have held a post within a sustainability management background which has demonstrable experience of implementing other social value or stakeholder management programs

  • Have a strong awareness of and demonstrable interest in the Social Value challenges that our colleagues are involved with whilst carrying out work for our key clients and an understanding of the National Social Value Frameworks

  • Has the drive to make impactful change and is eager to challenge the status quo and suggest new ways of working, as well as implementing change and 'seeing it through.'

  • An ability to communicate in an effective, authentic and engaging way that presents ideas and concepts that influence people to get involved

  • Conversant with STEM and EDI principles

  • An ability to build relationships with all types of people and an understanding of what motivates others

  • Member or Fellow of ICRS

  • Proficient with Office 365 products and PowerBI
