Full Job Description

Are you a great motivator who would like to make a difference to my daughters life?
She is 15 years old and needs support to try out new things
She is a loving person who enjoys cooking, sewing, painting but needs that special person to help her to find other things she enjoys outside of home
A big part of the role is to help to develop her independence and confidence so she feels more able to be away from me, her mum
I would like someone to provide support at the weekends but this can be anytime to suit you and the hours can be split
As we are not on a bus route, you would need to have your own car. Mileage will be paid.
She is non verbal you would need to have some experience of communicating through PECS or Makaton
Other Requirements

  • "Exemption is claimed under the Equality Act 2010 Part 1 Schedule 9."

  • Must be comfortable with pets


  • Non-smoker preferred or someone who is willing to refrain from smoking during work hours.

  • Must have a UK driving licence

  • Must have access to own vehicle

  • All applicants must be willing to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check if required.
    Successful applicants will be entitled to Holiday pay and will be issued employment contracts., Typical duties
    Domestic -
    Support with cooking to develop independence

    Personal Care:
    Support around toileting and ensuring cleanliness
    Social:
    To support and motivate with finding and attending age appropriate activities
    My daughter is able to mobilise but for longer distances she uses a wheelchair so you would need to be able to lift this in and out of the car if using

  • Female due to personal care needs

  • Able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative

  • Hygienic, tidy minded and well organised

  • Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties

  • Patience and possess excellent interpersonal skills

  • Legally permitted to work in the United Kingdom

  • Able to work at all times to high standards of Health & Safety
