Full Job Description

Politics and History are extremely popular and thriving subjects with large numbers of students opting to study History at GCSE and A level and Politics at A level. As a result, the governors of this highly successful and oversubscribed school seek to appoint a new member of staff to join our team. We are looking for an enthusiastic, inspirational and dynamic classroom practitioner who can teach or have the ambition to teach both subjects to A level.

All Saints is a catholic 11-18 Mixed Comprehensive serving York and the surrounding community. It is highly regarded in the local area and recognised as a friendly and welcoming school with high academic standards. The school has a very positive learning culture and our Ofsted report (2016) graded the school as outstanding.

All Saints Catholic Secondary School is part of the Nicholas Postgate Catholic Academy Trust, a family of 38 schools, and a vibrant Sixth Form College. With more than 12,300 pupils and 1,500 staff, NPCAT is now one of the largest multi-academy trusts in the UK.

Applications are welcome from both experienced and Early Career Teachers. We are committed to your on-going professional development and you can expect to benefit from a high quality CPD programme. All Saints is a key strategic partner in the Pathfinder Teaching School Hub. This together with our involvement in the provision of professional teaching qualifications provides an excellent environment for those teachers who are ambitious and excited by the exposure to innovative research based teaching and learning.
