Education / teaching vacancies in Wethersfield, Sible Hedingham and Chelmsford, Essex.

Exceptional Ideas Ltd is a small independent company working with the most amazing young people in Essex.

Exceptional Ideas Ltd is looking for Student Mentors to teach and support young people who have complex difficulties in our schools. No prior teaching experience is needed as full training will be provided, and you will be working within a great, supportive team.

We have 3 small independent schools located in Sible Hedingham (Teaseldown School), Wethersfield (Brook View School) and Chelmsford (Primrose Hill School). These place up to 10 students each and are staffed on a 1:1 basis. The schools are happy, calm environments where the students and the close supportive staff teams can thrive together. We follow a programme of therapeutic education for all of our students in a very informal environment to a pre-planned curriculum.

Training and support will be given and there is no requirement for applicants to have teaching qualifications. We have staff from all kinds of working and educational environments, and we find that our students respond well to people from different backgrounds and experiences.

The successful candidates will have 5 GCSE grades A to C or equivalent and a full UK driving licence.

Salary scale starts at £20,134.40 rising to £22,143.71 depending on qualifications and experience. You will be paid on a 12-month basis (with school holidays paid fully), and we offer an employer contribution pension scheme with The Royal London.

The hours of work are 8:30am to 4:30pm Monday to Friday term time only.

Applicants must have or be able to provide a clear enhanced DBS check, a valid driving license, 2 strong references and a drive to provide a bespoke high-quality service to our young people. Appointments will be made on a 6 month probationary period.
