We have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our existing pastoral team as a Teaching Head of Year. The Pastoral Team currently comprises of a non-teaching Head of Year, non-teaching Head of Year responsible for our alternate pathway, a Head of Key Stage 4, Head of Key Stage 5 and Assistant Principal responsible for pastoral, safeguarding and inclusion. Our Pastoral Team work very closely with our school councillor and teaching staff across all curriculum areas in their roles as classroom practitioners and form tutors to secure the very best support and provision to enable all to achieve their ambitions and aspirations.

At Energy Coast UTC our intent is to deliver academic excellence alongside a world class technical and skills based practical education, ensuring our students also excel in employability skills and work directly with employers on a range of projects. Our 14-19 college, located on the edge of the Lake District National Park in an area of outstanding natural beauty, is a thriving educational setting which has nurtured partnerships between industry and education. We prepare students to meet the demand for highly skilled engineers and civil engineers in Cumbria and the world.

Our industry partners who work on a range of projects alongside our students include the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority, Sellafield Ltd, Morgan Sindall, the University of Cumbria, McMenon and the Royal Navy.

We take staff and student wellbeing seriously and have invested time and money in ensuring that all members of our school feel supported and happy. "Leaders are mindful of staff's workload. Staff enjoy working at the school and appreciate the training available to them." (Ofsted, 2023).
