Full Job Description

We are delighted to confirm a vacancy for our new KR12 post: 'Technical and Compliance Manager', working for Kent Pension Fund. The primary location for this role is Maidstone, Kent and the successful candidate will undertake hybrid working (both home and office working, according to business needs). We welcome applications from both internal and external applicants.

This role is full time 37 hours per week but we do welcome applications from part-time applicants, willing to work a minimum of 30 hours a week.

The post holder will join our large and successful Pensions and Treasury Service, within Pensions Section. This new post will play a vital role in the shaping of our pension service, ensuring that we are ready and prepared for regulatory change and technical developments that affect Kent Pension Fund.

You will be an experienced, solution focused team manager, responsible for your own multi-disciplinary team and senior reports. You will be the lead representative for the Fund's technical team and will report directly to our Pension Administration Manager. You will be required to represent the Fund in matters relating to policy and legislation, therefore your knowledge of the Local Government Pension Scheme must be in depth, broad and comprehensive. You will provide detailed advice for our stakeholders, which will include representatives from Pension Board and Pension Fund Committee. You will ensure technical compliance by challenging, monitoring and reviewing processes and working practices.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that the post holder has a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.

Work that works for you and us - let's talk flexibility!

KCC is committed to building a workforce which reflects the diversity of the county's working residents, encouraging applications from people of all ages, abilities, genders, sexual orientations, ethnic backgrounds, faiths and those with caring responsibilities, and aspires to create an inclusive workplace where everyone can be themselves at work.
