Full Job Description

Boeing is looking for a motivated Tooling Specialist to join our team in the Boeing London Gatwick Hangar & MRO. This role is critical to support the Boeing London Gatwick Part-145 maintenance operation and the wider Boeing network and customers base, with respect to the tool and GSE related support and oversight.

  • The Tooling Specialist is responsible for controlling, managing and providing visibility of Boeing owned tooling and ground equipment to support scheduled, unscheduled and emergent maintenance at the LGW operation and throughout the MRO network, this may include dealing with OEMs and customers.

  • Maintain tool records as required per Boeing and EASA Part 145 requirements including but not limited to ensuring that the Boeing system of record for control of tooling is an accurately updated to reflect tooling status.

  • Compile metrics and internal reports on operational performance and tooling availability.

  • Liaison with calibration and repair organisations to ensure that maintenance/calibration/repair activities are efficiently expedited

  • Perform and assist with the Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations (LOLER) Inspections.

  • Perform and assist with the Tool and GSE Preventative Maintenance Program including local repairs.

  • Monitor tool compliance and serviceability through routine and non-routine inspections, audits and inventory checks.

  • Monitor Tool Service Bulletins etc. to ensure that Boeing owned tools are at the applicable standard

  • Assist in the procurement process of additional or replacement tools.

  • Work alongside stores, production planners, engineers to aid the planning and execution of maintenance inputs.

  • Receive new tools into the organisation and load it into the Boeing computer management system.

  • Help coordinate and manage tool lease activity with our customer base

  • Help with the preparation and shipping of Boeing owned tools as required in order to support worldwide emergent maintenance needs.

  • Help coordinate the implementation of standardization, LEAN and OneBPS principles, in support of Boeing Program objectives.

  • Help promote a culture of Safety, Compliance, First Time Quality, Technical Excellence and Product Integrity.

  • With our continued growth, this role will play a key part in the development and implementation of new procedures as well as project work in support of our continued improvement.

    Candidate should be knowledgeable of industry and regulatory agency requirements as applicable to the control and management of tools.

  • Candidate must demonstrate an enhanced ability to communicate verbally and in written form.

  • Must have excellent organisation skills and the ability to work under pressure.


  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Be able to interpret technical drawings / documentation, such as REDARS experience is desirable.

  • Previous experience of using the AMOS system is highly desirable.
