Toolmaker

In this role, you will be a vital part of our engineering team, using your expertise in toolmaking to assist in fault analysis. Your contributions will help reduce downtime and provide practical, cost-effective solutions. The Toolmaker will be expected to respond promptly to engineering, quality, and safety issues, using your knowledge, experience, and skills to initiate corrective actions.

As a Toolmaker, you will uphold high standards in supporting Catnic and the engineering department's objectives. You will play an active role in team activities aimed at improving plant performance. Working closely with the Toolroom Supervisor, you will strive to minimise unplanned downtime and ensure that appropriate levels of spares are ready for use on all machines.

The ideal candidate for this position will have completed a Time served-approved Mechanical apprenticeship in Toolmaking. Experience in the manufacture of steel forming shear tools, cropping and piercing tools is highly desirable. Knowledge of CNC milling machines would be an advantage.

We are looking for a Toolmaker who has a good understanding of health and safety requirements, can work under pressure, and is willing to work overtime as and when required. The ability to work as part of a team is essential, as is a sound understanding of quality issues. A commitment to training and development is also important.
