We need a helpful and resourceful individual to join our team maintaining our care home Meir, Stoke-On-Trent. This is a varied job so you must have good all-round handyman skills and be proactive, organised, good communication skills, kind and considerate of others - most importantly, our lovely residents.

The role covers a wide range of tasks including:

Equipment repairs and servicing

Minor electrical works - replacing light fittings etc.

Repairs and improvements to equipment and facilities

Plumbing repairs, leaks, blockages, installing new sanitary ware

Installing & repairing fixtures and fittings

Painting and decorating

Fault finding

Assisting outside contractors

To carry out and keep up to date the H&S and Maintenance Audit checks on a weekly & monthly basis

Proven experience as a maintenance person or in a similar role

Strong knowledge of various maintenance and repair techniques

Ability to use hand and power tools effectively

Basic understanding of electrical and plumbing

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Good communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work independently or as part of a team

Great organisational skills
